Mining & Resources
West Coast Silver (WCE) is an exploration and development business that is focused on the exploration and development of the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project, located in the Tier 1 West Pilbara province. It is supported by a portfolio of in-demand and complementary project types. WCE sought to establish an online presence that was reflective of the importance as well as the potential for their mine operations. Although they had earned respect in the mining industry for their silver assets of high-grade and their professional approach, their digital image was not yet a reflection of the quality, innovation, and professionalism they exhibited.
In recognition of this, WCE collaborated with WebGx to develop a web-based platform that would effectively communicate their expertise in technology, project scope and investor value proposition to a wide audience, including regulators, investors, partners, and professionals from the industry. The aim was to develop an online platform that could serve as a live showcase of their work while offering simple navigation, extensive content, as well as up-to-date information presented in a contemporary, elegant, and professional style.
The journey started with a deep exploration of the world of WCE. Understanding their business requires more than just surface-level research. We worked directly with the executive team, geologists, and project managers in order to comprehend the complexity of their exploration activities and the importance in the story of Elizabeth Hill. This enabled us to craft an online narrative that was precise, convincing and reflected the values of the business.
The West Coast Silver brand is rooted in clarity, precision and innovative exploration strategies. We wanted to convey not only the facts but also the underlying story of the project’s geological significance along with its historical context and the future possibilities. This method meant that the website could be a hit with technical users and still be accessible to investors as well as the general public.
From the beginning, the project was guided by a number of key goals that shaped the design and development process. The first was that the website had to establish WCE as a trustworthy and innovative exploration company and distinguish it from an industry that is competitive. To do this, the online platform must be visually appealing and user-friendly that showcasing WCE’s assets and information with a style that evokes confidence.
The speed and responsiveness of the system were a must due to the increasing demand worldwide for mobile access to information. Users on mobile devices, typically clients and investors who check updates from a variety of places, demanded a smooth experience with speedy loading times as well as easy navigation.
Furthermore, the WCE’s internal team required the ability to change details of projects, communicate announcements, and manage the content effectively, without having to be constantly supported by technical experts. This demanded a reliable and flexible system for managing content seamlessly with the website’s layout.
Finally, the platform needed to be designed for search engines, ensuring that the company’s name is visible in organic results, while also attracting new stakeholders and keeping its relevance within the digital mining community of digital.
Our strategy for design was concentrated on creating a website that oozes professionalism as well as clarity and trust. The inspiration came from nature’s surroundings and the industrial history that is mining heritage, we designed an aesthetic that combines earthy hues with silver accents to represent the silver assets that lie at the core of WCE’s business.
The choices of typography were a blend of reading and modernity, using simple sans-serif fonts and classic serif headers that emphasized authority. The layout emphasised order and structure, which reflected the scientific quality of exploration efforts. High-quality, large-scale images of geological structures, mining locations, as well as corporate teams, enhanced the visual narrative. Moreover, interactive maps let users connect directly to project information.
We emphasized the user experience and made sure that technical details were clear and easily understood. Navigation was seamless across sections, regardless of whether users were searching for drilling results, resources for investors, or corporate information.
The polished interface is an intricately engineered backend specifically designed to scale and be agile. The website was developed using an advanced version of the WordPress CMS platform, enhanced by custom plugins and integrated features specifically designed for WCE’s specific requirements. This enabled the internal team to create or modify the information on projects as well as news releases and corporate documents, with ease.
The website includes an interactive tool for project exploration that shows mining tenements on maps and gives precise descriptions of the drilling process and estimates of the resource. This tool provides users with a clear and complete view of the WCE’s activities, an essential feature to aid in investor relations.
Additionally, we created an investor hub that combines information on financials, ASX announcements, presentations as well as corporate governance documents making sure that everyone has access to the most important information. The workflow for managing content was simplified to facilitate rapid publication without compromising quality or adherence.
From a technical perspective the website was designed to speed up and ensure reliability. Media assets like maps and images were loaded in a lazy way to reduce delay, scripts were trimmed as well as a content delivery system (CDN) was implemented to offer fast, global access. These optimizations ensured that the website performed well on both desktop and mobile devices, even in bandwidth-constrained environments.
We made sure that our SEO strategy was incorporated from the beginning and was not viewed in a way that was merely an add-on. We conducted extensive keyword research specifically targeted for the mining and investment industries, with a particular focus on terms like “Elizabeth Hill Silver Project,” “silver exploration Australia,” and “Tier 1 mining companies.”
The content was designed to include these keywords naturally as meta tags and schema markup were employed to increase the indexing of search engines. In-depth blog posts and news articles were published regularly to establish WCE as a thought-leader in the mining industry.
The internal linking as well as URL structure were optimized to improve crawlability, so that search engines were able to navigate through the website and index its extensive content. Within a short time after its launch, WCE experienced notable improvements in organic search results and increased qualified users to the site.
We recognized that over 70% of people access the website via phones, the team opted for the mobile-first approach to design. This meant designing the most user-friendly navigation menus for thumbs and collapsible content sections and a touch-optimized filter which made browsing projects and reports a breeze even on smaller screens.
Important actions, like email sign-up forms and form submissions, were made visible and easily accessible, without oversimplifying users. Interactive elements were created for speedy loading and function efficiently, decreasing the amount of frustration and encouraging more engagement.
The improved mobile experience helped significantly in decreasing bounce rates and the length of sessions. This indicates that customers were gaining value and were spending more time looking through WCE’s services.
The official launch of the new WCE website was the start of a relationship that will last for a while. WebGx offers ongoing maintenance as well as monitoring performance of the site as well as security updates and support for content to ensure that the platform is up to date and reliable.
Regular audits can help uncover opportunities for improvement, while A/B testing of the most important elements of user interfaces, like forms and call-to-actions–make sure that the website evolves according to changing user behaviour and business demands. Security is ensured through regular update of plugins, SSL certification, firewall security, and compliance with rules regarding privacy of data.
This method of proactive management is a way that WCE can concentrate upon their primary business and be certain that their online presence is a key factor in their growth and image.
The newly launched West Coast Silver website has produced impressive, tangible outcomes. The website’s traffic grew by more than 110% in just six months, aided by higher organic search rankings and entertaining content.
