Client Overview

The Royal School of Cosmetology is an established educational institution dedicated to training the next generation of beauty professionals. With a legacy of prestige in the vocational training sector, the school offers comprehensive programs ranging from hair design to advanced skin therapy. Their primary challenge lies in the digital “enrollment funnel”—transforming young, creative interest into formal applications by communicating both the technical excellence of their facilities and the career outcomes of their graduates.

The Challenge

The Royal School of Cosmotology needed a digital presence that did justice to their reputation. As an established institution in the beauty and cosmetology space, their existing website was outdated and failing to attract the calibre of prospective students their programmes deserved. The site was difficult to navigate, programme information was buried, and the application process felt unnecessarily complicated — all things that were costing them enrolments they should have been winning.

Our Approach

We treated this as an institutional redesign — balancing the gravitas of an established school with the accessibility needed to attract new students. The site needed to communicate prestige, clearly outline programmes and entry requirements, and make the application process feel achievable. We mapped the full prospective student journey before designing a single page.

What We Have Done

The design language was formal but welcoming — rich imagery from their training facilities, clear programme structures, and student outcome information prominently featured. Course pages were built with structured layouts that made it easy to compare programmes and understand what a career path might look like. The application and enquiry flow was simplified significantly. We reduced the number of steps from interest to contact, which was one of the clearest conversion problems on the original site. Maintenance was set up as an ongoing retainer to keep programme information current. We also introduced a student testimonial section and a careers outcomes page — two pieces of content that consistently rank among the highest-converting elements on education websites.

Results

Prospective student enquiries increased after launch. The school’s admissions team reported a higher quality of incoming applications — candidates were more informed and better matched to the programme requirements, reducing time spent on mismatched enquiries. The simplified application flow reduced drop-off significantly, and the maintenance retainer meant the site stayed accurate and up to date as course offerings evolved.
